Patrick Wagner
Patrick is a postdoctoral researcher in political economy at the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality.” He received his PhD in political science from the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern, master’s in international public policy from University College London (UCL) and bachelor's in international relations and political science from University of California, Davis.
Patrick’s research interests lie in the fields of international and comparative political economy with past research focusing on how democratic institutional variation affects trade policy outcomes, the impact of the rise of China on labor and foreign relations, and the globalization-labor nexus more broadly. He is currently working on research relating to the distributional and environmental impacts of trade and investment and consequences for public support regarding inequality and climate change mitigation policies.
