3. Purpose of Data Processing and Consequences of Non-Provision of Personal Data

  • I (Diana Seiberling) am conducting research on the relationship between women and leadership emergence within shared leadership teams. Participation in the research project "When do Women emerge as leaders in Shared Leadership" requires providing information within the questionnaires and indicating time frames. Participation in the research project is not possible without this information. I will analyze the data, particularly regarding the reliability of the developed questionnaire instrument.
  • Your participation in the survey is voluntary, and there are no disadvantages if you choose not to participate.

4. Legal Basis

  • Willingness to participate in the survey and permission to share data with the Office of Equal Opportunity: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 9(2)(a)).
  • Conducting the research project: Art. 6(1)(e) in conjunction with Art. 6(3) and Art. 9(2)(j), Art. 89 GDPR in conjunction with § 13(1) State Data Protection Act Baden-Württemberg.

5. Duration of Storage

  • Personal data will be pseudonymized by deleting associated organizational identifiers after 3 months, making it significantly more difficult to identify individual persons. The team identifier (Diana Seiberling) will be removed from the dataset.
  • Documents may be transferred to the responsible university archive and typically stored indefinitely.

  • Staff of the Chair of Organizational Behavior supervising the Bachelor´s Thesis
  • According to archival regulations, documents must be offered to the university archive before deletion. The university archive decides whether to accept the documents.

7. Consent to Providing Research Data to Third Parties

Your data will be used in an aggregated report for the university if more than five people from your organizational unit or status group participate in the survey. Aggregated means that we calculate the average of the collected data for your organizational unit (e.g., average team tenure). The Office of Equal Opportunity, Family Support, and Diversity uses these aggregated data to evaluate the state of organizational development related to team diversity, inclusive leadership, and shared leadership.
All anonymized research data within a repository: University internally manages the repository and worldwide users of the online repository.

8. Your Rights

  • You have the right to obtain information from the University of Konstanz about the personal data stored about you and/or to have incorrectly stored data corrected.
  • Furthermore, you have the right to deletion or restriction of processing or the right to object to processing.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal provisions.
  • Please note that these rights may be limited by us as the data is collected pseudonymously from the outset, potentially preventing identification of your individual data in the dataset.
  • The supervisory authority in Baden-Württemberg is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.

I have read the general information about the Bachelor´s Thesis project "When do women emerge as leaders in Shared Leadership" and consent to participating in the research project and the associated data processing.

I am aware that consent is voluntary and can be refused or revoked at any time without disadvantages or the need to provide reasons. I understand that the revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent until revocation. I understand that I can simply contact the contact person mentioned in the information to revoke my consent.
